<div>hello. i'll give some news on how our work is going on.</div>
<div>yesterday pierluigi, daria, sara and me gathered to make the recording with pierlugi's good hardwares. we analized very carefully Dante's description of Inferno's soundscape, and then we listened Diamanda Galas' interpretation of the litanies. so, daria did a real great performance with sobs, sighs, cries, screams, moans, laments and so on. we followed this idea: a very soft and teder cry for the bathroom, almost inaudible. and an opposite, extreme, Diamanda-Galas-like set of cries for the atrium. that's the contrast between the exterior voice, repressed, and the inner voice, blasting and universal.

<div>so, this is the final concept of our work, as we all discussed it in the last class and yesterday.</div>

<div><strong>title: her Inferno</strong></div>
<div><strong>idea: a sound installation based on Dante's description of Inferno's soundscape (III, 22-30). our interpretation means to explore Inferno not as a metaphysical place, but as a state of mind.</strong> <strong>
in fact, the blasting and universal suffering the audience can hear in the atrium is found to be the personal condition of a girl all alone behind a closed door.</strong> we do not know who this girl is and why is she crying, 'cause there is no real explanation for human pain. why do we suffer? our work means not to give the answer, but to explore the state of pain in intself, just using sounds.

<div>our musical reserach is based in the manipulation of voice, for voice is probably the most powerful instrument of all. the manipulation will create sound-masses of voices, inspired to Diamanda Galas' performances and other examples that any of us can suggest.
