Hello class,

I am glad to see that you are finding ideas for palazzo Liviano!
I will have questions and comments on Thursday.
Also thank you Andrea, Antonio, Sara, Daniele, Marco B. and Perluigi
for getting the ball rolling and sharing your proposals.

By the way, we will meet for the next two Thursdays. This week
Professor Bernardini and I have done everything possible to secure
Aula 9, but space is a serious problem at the Conservatory. If for
any reason Aula 9 is not available, then we will find an alternate
spot. It could be a nearby cafe that you suggest, but it is better to
avoid the arm-wrestling over space and go straight to our work.

Thank you Andrea for taking the lead and being a spokes person for
the group. I will offer a few quick thoughts off the top of my head...

1. It will make a huge difference WHO the voice belongs to. Is it the
first woman to get at degree from the U of Padova (as you probably
know this was the first woman in the world to get a degree)?

2. Why is she crying - is it my Romanian cleaning lady next door who
cannot bring her child to live with her and crys when she sees 6 year
old boys?

3. Given the fact that only men are 'supposed' to experience this
piece, are there other complementary sound diffusions that we can do
in conjunction with this piece.

4. I don't know La cicatrice interieure, but if you have a DVD that
you can cue up in class, we can look an excerpt.

Other comments/questions will follow, but as we have discussed all
the details, both artistic and mechanical should be examined to make
this piece more than a college exercise.

Also, here is a link to a recent show in Boston called Getting
Emotional that used the theme of crying:

A presto, Neil
